Join us for a 2-day workshop where you will have the opportunity to delve into the world of figure painting using oil paints. This course is designed with both beginners and experienced artists in mind, offering a comprehensive exploration of form, proportion, and colour.
On the first day of the workshop, you will be working directly from a live model. Under the guidance of our experienced tutor Alexandra, you will focus on creating an underpainting that captures the essence of the figure. With an emphasis on form and proportion, you will learn how to lay a solid foundation for your painting.
Moving on to day two, you will continue working from the model and shift your attention to the realm of colour. The main focus of the second day will be on mixing flesh tones and creating a limited colour palette to paint with. Alexandra will share valuable techniques and insights to help you achieve a harmonious range of skin tones.
Throughout the workshop, you will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on exercises, receive individualised feedback, and learn from the artistic processes of your fellow participants. Working with oil paints will allow you to explore their unique qualities and discover the versatility they offer in capturing the beauty of the human form.
Whether you have never picked up a paintbrush before or are an experienced artist looking to refine your skills, this workshop is suitable for artists of all levels. Our tutor will provide step-by-step guidance and support as you explore the techniques and concepts behind figure painting.
