Working in mixed media Tracey takes her inspiration from what she sees around her from day to day. The subject of her landscape painting is both local and further afield, including street scenes, harbour views and seascapes.
She says, “I enjoy a subject that I have a personal connection with, and that holds a great deal of visual interest with plenty of structure, colour, shape and form, such as Cirencester marketplace or a Cornish fishing harbour".
Tracey has always experimented with mixed media and is fascinated by the use of text and paper collage. Her work is built up in layers combining collage, (generally of local interest) acrylic paint and acrylic inks using a range of techniques to apply the media, spontaneous marks help to give a feeling of movement and harmony. Her work combines abstract qualities together with a recognisable sense of place.
Tracey also has an exciting new range of small still life, quick, bold oil paintings, each one created in one sitting with large brushes and a definite foodie theme.
Tracey produces a wide range of prints, cards and originals, she is also happy to take private commissions and she welcomes you to visit her vibrant studio.
