Join Katerina for a day of material meditation, stitching with nature. In this hand embroidery workshop Katerina will teach participants how to use dried natural materials as embroidery embellishments.

You will begin by creating an embroidery sampler, learning how to stitch with these new and unusual embellishments such as lavender seeds, cornflowers, dahlia petals, rosemary etc. Once comfortable with the technique, Katerina will then guide you to design and create your own individual embroidered artwork composed of organic elements.

Through this workshop Katerina endeavors to share how working akin with nature and craft can restore personal and planetary well-being. Whether you are interested in textiles, gardening, meditative practices or would just like to learn something new, this workshop promises to be soothing and sensorial.

A varied selection of dried plant material will be provided by Katerina. Materials have been homegrown or sustainably foraged from her local surroundings in the Malvern hills and then carefully dried, ready to be used as embellishments. But you are welcome to bring your own natural plant materials you might wish to explore. This could include fresh plant material too, such as flowers from your garden or a bouquet that is reaching its end of life.
