Meet your tutor

Jayne Emerson is a practicing Textile Designer, author and tutor based in North Gloucestershire.

For the past 20 years Jayne has created innovative fabric samples that explore the boundaries of modern embroidery, patchwork, fabric manipulation and needle felting. Her samples have sold to a wide range of clients that include Chanel, Calvin Klein, Nina Ricci, Louis Vuitton, Dior and Balenciaga as well as John Lewis Home, Top Shop, M and S and Boden.

She trained at Loughborough College of Art graduating with a 1st class honours degree in Multi Media Textiles before completing her Masters in Fashion at Central St Martins. Since then her work has taken a wide-ranging path that has allowed her to express her creativity from craft through to couture. She is the author of six books Simply Felt (with Margaret Docherty), The Impatient Patchworker, The Impatient Embroiderer, New from Old, Simply Needle felt and Boho Felt Crafts with Rachel Henderson.

Jayne runs classes both in person and online, and is the founder of “The No Rules Textile Society”.
