Experiment with the exquisite medium of watercolour to create atmospheric and expressive paintings.
Respond from your feelings, memories and senses to create personal responses to the theme of landscape: paint the land you love or let your own inner landscapes take form. Give yourself permission to enjoy the unexpected, to have fun and to delight in the ‘happy accidents’. Explore the surprising possibilities of watercolor when combined with new materials including household substances such as oil, wax and soap. This workshop will introduce you to a diversity of ways to work with watercolour from washes and glazes to feathers and fingers!
Basic watercolour skills will be taught, and confidence developed, but there’ll be an emphasis on exploring, expressing and experimenting. All levels of ability are welcome. This workshop will be suitable for you if you are a beginner and may also be of interest to you if you are a more experienced artist looking for a fresh approach to your practice.
